Flintshire Frag was started by three friends. Smeg, Fyfe and The_Morrell. Unfortunately Smeg has left the Lan to pursue his career down south and now has moved onto America, we all wish good luck to him. We started the LAN after realising that we had the equipment, we had the knowledge to get the network up and running and we most definitely had the enthusiasm to keep one going! After settling on the venue, getting the details sorted and establishing a net presence we held our first event, which went fairly well. Since that we have had more interest, we've got our own domain name, we have appeared in PC Format, have had the picture of the day on LANparty.com.

The gory details.

Each LAN is held in the Holiday Inn near Northop Hall. Directions here

We start at 10.00am and go on to 10.00pm, we have an FTP server with all the latest patches, maps, upgrades and useful programs.

We have between 1 and 2 dedicated servers going, depending on availability, and we are fully 10/100mbs network compatible.

There is plenty of parking by the venue.

We charge entry for the LAN, this is mainly to cover the cost of hiring the hall for the day, anything we make extra goes into the kitty and is used to book more dates or buy/upgrade equipment for the Lan.
